Mill Creek Entertainment has secured a multi-year deal with
Cookie Jar Entertainment to release a slate of its popular animated programs on DVD. Mill Creek has previously released some great cartoons on DVD such as
He-Man (2002),
Teddy Ruxpin,
Dungeons & Dragons and
Prince Valiant. The deal between Cookie Jar and Mill Creek could mean some great cartoons from the 80's and 90's may finally see the light of day on DVD. As long as they don't just stick to the new shows in the catalogue, here's a look at a few of the possibilities:
Battletoads
Double Dragon
Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling
M.A.S.K.
Mummies Alive!
Popples
Rainbow Bright
Prostars
Starcom
Street Sharks
Ulysses in the 31st Century
A lot of the titles available in Cookie Jar's back catalogue have had some DVD releases, but the few above could either stand to get a complete series release. If they can only pick 3 shows to put out on DVD, please let it be
Starcom,
M.A.S.K. and
Street Sharks!!! Now, it is very possible that Cookie Jar doesn't even own the rights to some of these DIC shows. Rumour has it DIC bought back a lot of these titles a few years ago. Could be the reason we haven't seen
M.A.S.K. on DVD yet.
Keep checking back here for more news on any upcoming Mill Creek DVD releases.
